Specifications: Avoid “thermal shock” – going directly from refrigerator to high heat. Begin cooking with low heat to avoid cracks or breakage.
Care: Before first use, wash the stone with salt water and dry it thoroughly. Do not use any detergent. Grease both sides with vegetable oil or lard and allow it to stand for at least 24 hours. Do not add fats or oils, only spices, and wine during cooking. Not dishwasher or microwave safe. Ensure the stone is cool before washing. Never throw cold water on the stone to cool it. After use, let the stone cool slowly, and once lukewarm, use a cloth soaked in vinegar and an iron scraper or brush to wash the stone. Do not use any kind of detergent on the tone.
