Living Steel’s rendition of the classic Japanese vegetable knife, the Nakiri LS150 was originally featured by acclaimed food writer Florence Fabricant of the NY Times. Crafted by hand in Gothenburg, Sweden by our partners Joel Andersson and Adisa Copra, this versatile and convenient tool excels at a variety of tasks, its tall profile and straight edge designed for effortless vegetable chopping. The blade, convex above a sharp, thin edge and etched to produce a matte finish, is shaped from Swedish-made Uddelholms UHB20C high-carbon steel. For comfort and control over the cutting board, polished black Bekelite with solid, polished brass bolster and pin in a classic octagonal profile form the handle.
