Beautiful Yellow Glass Tidbit plate
The plate is from Standard Glass Company
This measures about 10½” diameter and 1¾” tall (26.7 x 4.4 cm)
It is free of cracks, and chips.
There are some flaws from manufacture, bubbles and straw marks.
Standard use marks are seen lightly on this piece.
This is really unique and different.
Hocking glass Purchased 50% interest in Standard Glass approximately 1927.
In 1935 Hocking purchased all remaining assets of Standard Glass
The story continues that Hocking and Anchor merged in 1937
This piece is believed to be from the mid-30’s so it’s difficult to determine if Standard created it for Hocking, for Anchor-Hocking, or under it’s own name. Although Standard Glass was known as a cutter for other decorating and etching houses, and was mostly utilitarian.
