J A Henckels heavy 7″ cleaver with a laminated hard steel and mild steel blade (boundary visible on middle of blade), handled with either a walnut or darkened fruitwood (pear?) scales and solid factory made rivets (not pin and disc).
The blade has a large serif marking and the mid century slightly narrower twins logo.
An uncommon cleaver, most that turn up have a solid steel blade rather than an extra hard laminated steel edge half. It definitely was a lot of work to grind compared to the steel ones.
