The 157mm / 6.2″ blade is sharp, tough, and versatile, delivering a heel tall and sturdy enough for the most demanding cuts, while the spine tapers to a very fine, needle-like tip perfect for detail work and exacting slices. The blade’s convex bevels drop downward from the forge-finished flats and tang, baring Korben’s darkened ‘special black’ finish including ‘oil spill’ coloring of purples, reds, and turquoise, the result of a careful and purposeful etch and controlled oxidation process. A vein of pure nickel adds to the striking visual effect. For ergonomic control over this one-of-a-kind tool is a handle sculpted from stabilized maple, capped with a ferrule of black G10, and secured with a polished, domed steel pin which allows for handle removal in the case that care or maintenance are needed.
